Gelito Homemade Jell-O Style easy to prepare and delicious chocolate pudding recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups milk (whole or 2%)
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon butter (optional, for extra richness)
  • 1 tablespoon gelatin powder

Directions:

  • Mix Dry Ingredients:
      • In a medium pot, whisk together the sugar, cocoa powder, cornstarch, salt, and gelatin powder.
  • Add Milk:
      • Gradually whisk in the milk until the mixture is smooth.
  • Cook the Pudding:
      • Cook the mixture, whisking it all the while until it starts bubbling and thickens up. This should take about 5 to 7 minutes.
      • Once it is thickened, lower the flame and it can be cooked further for one to two more minutes whisking for the final time.
  • Add Butter And Vanilla:
      • Take the pan off the heat. Pour in the vanilla extract and butter (if required) and mix until completely incorporated.
  • Prepare To Cool The Pudding:
    • Divide the pudding prepared into ready to serve dessert cups. Use cling wrap on top and press it down the pudding so that there is no air in between to form a top layer on the pudding.
    • Allow the pudding to set at room temperature until cool and then store into the fridge until serving for at least 2 hours or longer.
